The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been intense.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of characters residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by songs about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
